Can I use UKAS logo?
1 (a) Only UKAS may use the relevant national accreditation logo on stationery, quotations for work, reports and certificates, websites and brochures, and other items relevant to UKAS’ accreditation activities, subject to the conditions set out in this publication.
What is UKAS logo?
The UKAS logo is our most important brand asset. It combines the crown and name, and is the most recognised element of our visual brand. The most prominent changes are a modernisation of the crown symbol, which has been approved by BEIS and the Lord Chamberlain’s Office.
What is an accreditation logo?
The IOAS accreditation symbol (see right) is a business to business mark that denotes that a certification body is accredited by IOAS and indicates their unique contract number. It may be used on certificates within the scope of their accreditation and on web sites and other promotional material.
What is UKAS?
The United Kingdom Accreditation Service
The United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) is the national accreditation body for the United Kingdom, appointed by government, to assess organisations that provide certification, testing, inspection and calibration services.
What was before UKAS?
UKAS was set up in 1995 under a memorandum of understanding with the British government (between UKAS and the then Secretary of State for Trade and Industry). It resulted from the merger in 1995 of NAMAS (National Measurement Accreditation Service) and NACCB (National Accreditation Council for Certification Bodies).
When did UKAS replace CPA?
CPA POCT accreditation transitioned to UKAS as part of the medical laboratory transition process, which was completed in 2018.
How long is a UKAS certificate valid?
4-year
UKAS accreditation is granted for a 4-year period. During this time, accreditation is continually monitored by UKAS and renewed in the fourth year following a full reassessment. The expiry date on the platform is the date by which the renewal of accreditation must be granted following a reassessment.
Why is UKAS accredited?
UKAS ensure that certification bodies meet the ISO 17021 standard for conformity assessment. Companies that achieve UKAS accreditation should be shouting about it. The internationally-recognised accreditation gives your business a competitive advantage, opening access to new markets within the EU and beyond.
What is the difference between CPA and UKAS?
The CPA has been a wholly owned subsidiary of UKAS since 2009. UKAS is currently managing the transition of all CPA accredited laboratories to UKAS accreditation against the internationally recognised standard for Medical Laboratories, ISO 15189:2012.
