A tandem skydive is a skydiving experience where two people jump out of an airplane together, strapped to one another during the entire descent.
What is skydive season?
It’s commonplace to skydive during the fall months, but not for the entire fall. Officially, the fall season lasts from the third week in September through the third week in December. Most skydiving centers operating in the northeast, midwest, and Pacific northwest operate through the third weekend in October.
Can you skydive for free?
It is important to recognise that although it seems you are skydiving for free, the tandem parachute jump is being paid for by the charity and the people supporting your cause, so you should try to raise as much as possible over the minimum target.

Blue-Skies: Of course there is the literal meaning of “blue-skies”, which is that there is a cloudless day, but in skydiving, the phrase is imbued with more meaning. Used as both a greeting and phrase of farewell, it’s a way to say that you hope all is well and a bit of a benediction or blessing that it stays that way.

Whether you call it skydiving or parachuting, it’s all jumping out of an airplane, right? The main difference between skydiving and parachuting is that in skydiving, we freefall before deploying our parachutes, and in parachuting, we deploy the parachute straight away.

Fall. Though not as popular as summer, fall is one of the best times of the year you can skydive. The skydiving season is just beginning to wind down, and with that, comes a more relaxed pace.

How often do parachutes fail?! The answer: Hardly ever. According to the USPA (which collects and publishes skydiving accident statistics), about one in every one-thousand parachutes will experience a malfunction so significant that actually requires the use of the reserve parachute.
Can you breathe while skydiving?
Yes, you can! A common misconception about skydiving is that you can’t breathe during freefall, but breathing during a skydive is actually not much harder than breathing on the ground.
